Critical Thinking - What Is It and Why Is It important?

Critical thinking is a disciplined process of analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating information gathered from or generated by observation, experience, or communication.  Using the intellectual tools that critical thinking offers, our students will learn to analyze and assess information. They will be able to:

  • Raise vital questions and problems
  • Gather and assess relevant information using abstract ideas to interpret it effectively
  • Come to well-reasoned conclusions
  • Think openmindedly
  • Communicate effectively
